Production of new processors with a 1-nanometer process technology has begun in Russia. Production has opened in the city of Novosibirsk, and the processors will soon go on sale in China.
The new processors were developed by Micron and are based on the open RISC-V architecture. They are intended for use in various devices and instruments that require reduced dependence on foreign component base and licenses.
Mikron’s production capacity allows it to fully satisfy the needs of Russian electronics manufacturers. General Director of the company Gennady Degtev noted that this is an important step for the domestic instrument industry.
Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Alexander Prokhorov emphasized that the new microcontroller can be used in various fields, including industrial automation, Internet of things, smart home, infrastructure, transport and medicine.
General Director of Mikron JSC Gulnara Khasyanova said that sales of MK32 AMUR chips will begin in a year. However, the lack of information about the technical process and clock frequency raises questions about product quality.
